Welcome to Still Family Coparenting Community!

Still Family is a trademark of Susan Carpenter Coaching and Consulting LLC. Susan created this community to empower parents struggling with family transitions. While a majority of parents we work with are going through divorce, ongoing family court battles and custody or parenting time conflict with an uncooperative coparent or experiencing high conflict issues, we help all parents who want to find a better way to parent effectively. We offer self-paced parenting classes, live events, support groups and book clubs through free and paid memberships.

Serving Parents and Families and Building Community

Still Family Parenting Classes and Programs

Build connection with the ones you love the most and prepare for the ones yet to come!

Many people struggle with relationships these days, but family conflict and relationship problems have been around since the beginning of time. It is said that one in four families is experiencing estrangement (separation, no contact, misunderstandings and communication problems). Divorced parents struggle with parental alienation, false accusations, resist-refuse dynamics and coercive control. In most cases, you can restore and rebuild parent-child relationships without having to go to court. In fact, court can do very little to resolve relationship problems. You need to empower yourself. That is where Still Family Parenting comes in. We'll show you the ropes, teach you things you may have never learned and support you through this trauma while you build up your confidence and build relationship skills!

Boundaries with Kids Book Cover

Boundaries with Kids

Boundaries with Kids is a practical and inspiring guide for parents who want to raise responsible, empathetic, and self-disciplined children. Drawing on decades of clinical experience, Drs. Henry Cloud and John Townsend show how setting clear, loving boundaries helps children develop respect, self-control, and the ability to make wise choices. With real-life examples, biblically grounded principles, and actionable strategies, the authors equip parents to balance love with limits—teaching kids to take ownership of their actions and emotions while preparing them for a healthy, productive adulthood. This book offers both encouragement and challenge—reminding parents that boundaries are not barriers but bridges to maturity. For a book club, it opens the door to honest dialogue about parenting struggles, successes, and hopes for raising children who thrive.
His Brain, Her Brain Book Cover

His Brain, Her Brain

This book explores the fascinating ways men and women are wired differently—and how those differences can be understood with empathy rather than frustration. Drawing on neuroscience, medical research, and decades of counseling experience, Dr. Walt Larimore and his wife Barb reveal how male and female brains process emotions, communication, and problem-solving in unique ways. For divorced parents, these insights are especially valuable. Understanding how men and women think, feel, and respond differently can reduce conflict, ease co-parenting tensions, and create more respectful communication. By reframing differences as design rather than defect, the book equips parents to communicate more effectively with an ex-spouse, model empathy and respect for children, even in high-conflict situations, build healthier boundaries, strengthen resilience by shifting from blame to curiosity.

"I took the Circle of Security Parents Program, and I learned so much! It really helped me connect with my child and manage behaviors. Thank you so much! I love that you offer Saturday classes, too. Amazing! I recommend this program to everyone.

Brianna

"I cannot tell you how much you helped me deal with my vindictive coparent. It has changed everything for me and my kids! It's so nice to connect with other parents going through similar experiences. I no longer feel like an outcast."

Adam

"What a great approach to helping families. Your organization is very knowledgeable and put things in simple terms that I could understand. I'm not sure why family court doesn't explain things to parents. My approach to the situation was really messed up. Thanks for helping me turn things around. I got all my parenting time back because of you! God bless."
